2008 Peruvian Concerts

It was quite a year for international music artists performing in Peru. As the economy of Peru continues to expand at very high rates, bands are noticing the increase in expendable income and are adding Peru to their list of tour locations. In the past, bands from the USA rarely made the trip to Lima for a concert. Now, take a look at the artists that traveled to Peru during 2008 from the USA and other locations:

• July – Camila
• August – Molotov
• September – Mercedes Soza, Boy George, Wisin y Yandel
• October – Fito Paez, Andres Calamaro
• November – Duran Duran, Kylie Minogue, R.E.M., Cindy Lauper, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs
• December – Enrique Iglesias

As bands continue to see traditional income streams decrease, international tours to new locations will become major ways to make money and increase their listening base.
