Global Summer ’08 Concerts

My future career goal is to help bands develop strategies for entering new markets through sales & tours. In that light, I am very interested in international summer tours. Here is interesting news about three such countries:

Jordan
Jordan will be hosting a month-long music festival this summer at Amman Petra and on the Dead Sea. The festival will be held from July 8 – Aug 9. Mika, Diana Krall, and Placido Domingo are a few of the artists that will be performing.

Dubai
Dubai will host the Center Stage Management Dubai Desert Rock Festival and the Urban Desert Festival this year.

China
In true communist fashion, China is canceling their Beijing Pop Festival. This is most likely due to recent comments regarding Tibet that have been voiced at recent Chinese concerts by foreign performers.
