Mobile Media

Since purchasing the iPhone about a week and a half ago, my internet use has changed drastically. I now check my email more on my phone than on my laptop. I open links on my iPhone. I am discovering new music on this device. And I am interacting with media on a screen smaller than my finger.

This has big implications for bands developing their web strategy. More and more people will be viewing your webpages and hearing your music on mobile devices. If you rely solely on a flash website, well, the millions of people who use an iPhone will not be able to view your site. MySpace’s music player requires flash. Yes, the technology is likely to get better, but as a band, the strategy must include people who will begin to use their mobile devices much more.

Collabo Update
Wrigley’s, the maker of the famous chewing gum, is collaborating with Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, and Julianne Hough to have them remix famous jingles for their advertisements. There will be a concert on July 29th in New York City to unveil the new jingles.

Stay tuned,
Erik
