More Venture Capital
Despite the struggling economy, there are still some glimmers of hope in the venture capital world and their investments into new music-related websites. The newest recipient is TuneCore, a site that allows artists to immediately distribute their music to a number of different digital music stores, such as iTunes.
TuneCore just obtained $7 million in capital from different venture capital firms that were headed by Opus Capital.
TuneCore is a great option for artists. For under $30, artists can have their music up on some of the major distribution sites in a very short period of time. The artist also maintains the royalty for the songs. Every day, things are getting easier & easier for artists. But one thing has definitely not changed – it is still up to the artists to create compelling music that people will be interested in listening to.
Stay tuned,
Erik
