Puerto Rico Mobile Contest

A Puerto Rican mobile company named Centennial is going to hold an “American Idolesque” contest over cellphones. Contestants will call in to sing a song from a list of songs. Votes will be taken by the public, of course via their cell phones, and a jury will pick the semi-finalists.

This is brilliant on the part of Centennial. It brings a great deal of brand awareness to Centennial. And just think of all the times during the day where you are waiting in line, in the car, or are bored in the office, and you could quickly go in and vote for a contestant. It’s also a great deal with amazing incentives for the artists. The winner will win a recording deal with Sony BMG to record one song.

Stay tuned,
Erik
